Commission from RoksoDraws. Thought it'd be fun to get Echo dressed as a Sith. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of Star Wars today because of how fantastical it is, much preferring hard sci fi, it was definitely how I got my start with Sci Fi and something I was very into as a kid.

Yes, she's got a green lightsaber to match her eyes, but I still wanted a Sith aesthetic, because it's cool. Really more of a gray jedi vibe, because I like the idea of not being totally consumed by the dark side, but also not dogmatically rejecting it, and learning to leverage both sides to their advantages. I also like that it evokes RotJ Luke, with the black clothing and green saber, as I feel that's exactly what Luke managed to achieve in that movie. He wore black to symbolize the loss of his innocence, and in those climactic moments aboard the death star, he truly brought balance to the force, not by achieving victory and domination over the dark side, or being totally consumed by the dark side, but by learning to leverage and balance both sides. In those moments that he lashes viciously out at Vader to protect Leia, he is fueling his strikes with anger and desperation and emotion, and he has fallen to the dark side. But he is pulled out of it by seeing Vader's mechanical hand, calms himself, and regains control rather than being consumed. It is in that moment, that he learns to bring balance to the force.

Weird place for me to put out this little rant, but I've never actually gotten to type that up and explain it before. But that's why I insist RotJ is the best of the Star Wars movies, despite the Ewoks (plus there's a full on fleet engagement and that's just cool). Feel free to comment your own views.
