You can help save painted dogs by considering a donation to Wildlife ACT or the Endangered Wolf Center. Both organizations are highly reputable and do a lot of good work for the species. EWC is located in the United States and acts as a preserve for many canids, including a pack of painted dogs, and participates in the Species Survival Plan for Lycaon pictus. Wildlife ACT does not focus specifically on painted dogs, but it is one of the species they track and manage. They conduct a variety of monitoring and rescue operations directly in South Africa, including snare removal, radio collaring, and education and outreach to the local population.
