Rêverie: Mama! Is there something you haven't told me about my pendant? Why is it glowing all of a sudden?
Celestia: You will find out soon enough, my dear.
A wondrous artwork of Celestia demonstrating the power of a magical staff to her daughter and closest friends. Indirectly called the 'Draumstafir', which is actually
one of many Icelandic staves (or sigils) for runic magic and grimoires, it is used for any creation, alteration or destruction through dreams and imagination within the Fantasy Realm. While Celestia already has the ability to do much of that on her own as an overseer, the Draumstafir provides it on a more massive scale. With that mentioned, Celestia usually keeps the staff put away as it can be very dangerous in the wrong hands...even though it will only work for those who the true possessor allows to use it. The Draumstafir is actually supposed to be for her daughter, Rêverie, but Celestia wants to make sure she is ready for it when the time is right.
As to where the Draumstafir actually came from, no one actually knows. Rumors say that the staff was provided to Celestia by the Norse goddess Njörun sometime after the War of the Kingdoms, although she is quite a mysterious diety and hardly ever seen. Celestia even admits to never being before her presence and that the Draumstafir just "showed up" with a message included. While there have been many changes in the Fantasy Realm since the beginning of time, it does not happen on major scales often. The Draumstafir is actually meant to be for a dream goddess than an overseer, which is why Rêverie is more suitable for its use. Granted that there are many dream goddesses in the Fantasy Realm, the Draumstafir is based on the use of runic magic which Celestia and Rêverie are both well acquainted with. Let's say that it's a backup plan to keep the Fantasy Realm in balance if something were to happen to the overseer. Sensing a great danger upcoming to the worlds, Celestia took a risky chance and gave Foxx the Draumstafir to hide away until she was able to take care of the situation. She didn't tell Foxx what the staff was actually for...only that it was meant for be given to her daughter when the time is right. Everything would be revealed soon enough.
The lunar pendant that Rêverie owns does have ties to the Draumstafir, which is why it will glow when the staff is being used. She can also use the pendant as a tracer to the Draumstafir if the staff were to be somewhere it shouldn't, which Celestia has yet to let her know about. Of course, that is not the
only thing Rêverie's lunar pendant will do. Anyway, Celestia is only demonstrating the magic of the Draumstafir on a minor level at the moment. Besides, those wisps are cute. They also like playing with Foxx's hat. ;0P
Special thanks to
Red-IzaK for the creation of this artwork. She put a lot into this piece, and it came out quite beautifully. :0) Be sure to check her stuff out.
