Raynor
The Trickster
"You think you may have me, but guess again!"

Summary:
This is one of a number of quick (and cheap) AI character designs which I adopted recently on DeviantArt. This one, though, I will eventually get a reference sheet created for. I was originally going to have a custom creation done for Raynor, but based on this design, I can make use of him in my storylines.

Based on the French legends, I named this character Raynor de Maleperduys. For those who already know of the familiarities, then you will know that I am basing him on the primary persona from the many Renaissance stories created of Reynard the Fox. While there is no single author of these tales, the characters and personalities in each one are pretty much the same. Maleperduys (also spelled Maleperduis), of course, is the home of Reynard, his wife Hermeline and their children. Some stories mention only two children, but a couple others have three.

In regards to Raynor, he was married to a country vixen named Ermine Larocque and they had three kits. As previously stated with Ermine, the stories of the two during their time together haven't changed based on the French legends. Raynor is a trickster and ruffian who has a number of enemies. His primary foe was the noble grey wolf, Æsengrym Leloup. Ermine would occasionally help Raynor on some of his ventures. One day, though, Raynor didn't return from one of these travels. Thinking that Raynor was killed, Ermine would eventually re-marry and have another kit named Hélène. A few more years would pass before Raynor finally returned. He vowed to seek revenge on Ermine for "cheating" on him.

Well...many additional years passed with nothing of significance. When the War of the Kingdoms began, all that changed. Ermine and her latest daughter disappeared, never to be seen again. It is rumored that they were murdered by brigands, but that is one of many predictions. Regardless of the circumstances, Ermine's latest husband was able to avenge the losses at the cost of his own life.

Just like the number of others killed during the War of the Kingdoms, Raynor was thought to be one of them. His home of Maleperduys being one of many locations destroyed...or was it? It is possible that sorcery and enchantment were involved in the eventual kismet of Raynor, Ermine and Hélène. The Imaginaerum is endless, and the celestial planes their paths could cross are many. It's a fantasy world, after all. ;0)

Any fan art of mine or Rev's characters is fine, but please keep it SFW. Although Raynor is my character, I did adopt him from ChrisD19 who is the original creator. Thanks.
